President & CEO

Dr. Nihar Pandey is the founding President and CEO of Anthem Pharmaceuticals Inc. He founded Medipure Pharmaceuticals Inc. in 2014 and served as its Chief Scientific Officer and CEO. He has also held the role of Chief Scientific Officer at CliniCan Health Research and currently serves in the same capacity at Paws Pharma in Canada.

Dr. Pandey holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Biochemistry and has more than 25 years of experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical R&D, and business development. He is recognized as a key opinion leader (KOL) in drug discovery, development, and therapeutic approval across multiple areas, including metabolic diseases (diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular), neuroscience, dermatology, and endocannabinoid research, with a Concept-to-Market approach.

He completed postdoctoral training at the Department of Medicine, University of Montreal, the Clinical Research Institute of Montreal, and McGill University, Canada. He was appointed as a Research Scientist at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and The Ottawa Hospital (OHRI–Neuroscience) and later became Group Leader for Drug Discovery and Development at Liponex Inc., Ottawa.

Nihar also received clinical research training and worked at Health Canada in regulatory toxicology. He has published more than 35 peer-reviewed research papers, holds 5 active patents, and has contributed to 2 book chapters. In addition, he serves as a scientific reviewer for leading medical and life science journals, including Circulation, Circulation Research, The Lancet, Hypertension, Journal of Cell Biology, Lancet Diabetes, Molecular Neuroscience, and Metabolism.

He brings extensive expertise in business development and R&D related to drugs and medical devices, including controlled drug substances.

COO & CIO

Bao Li is the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Information Officer, and Co-Founder of Anthem Pharmaceuticals.  As COO and CIO, Bao is charged with ensuring smooth daily company operations and maintaining IT systems.

With over 25 years of experience, Bao has experience in various industries such as the Federal Government, Oil and Gas, Ship Building, and Pharmaceutical R&D.  Bao has spent over 12 years with Seaspan ULC in various roles and prior to the creation of Anthem Pharmaceuticals, he served as the IT Manager of Medipure Pharmaceuticals.

In his spare time, Bao likes to keep up to date with the latest tech innovations and taking long road trips.  As an avid car lover, one of his current weekend projects converting his Toyota MR2 Turbo to run on an electric drivetrain.
